Whistleblower protection: legal clarity needed across Europe

CEC European Managers is in favour of an EU-directive on whistleblower protection. The establishment of internal reporting procedures in companies, as well as external channels to ‘blow the whistle’ constitute an important improvement for managers in the public or private sector who report abuses of EU law. However, CEC regrets the decision of the European Commission not to have activated the provisions of art. 154 TFEU on social partners’ consultation.
