Managers and the European labour market: facing demographic change through active ageing

Forecasts show that about 16 million people will be needed to fill high-skill jobs by 2020. Many companies will thus be hit by a shortage of managers in their labour force. This is even more concerning since managers perform the essentially important function of developing communication and implementing the strategies and measures necessary for a sustainable age management and thus to meet the challenges posed by demographic change.

CEC European Managers launched a European project on this issue. On 24-25 May 2012 in Berlin, a conference was organized to open a discussion on how to meet these challenges and anticipated changes in the labour market.
