Another step towards gender equality in the programme of EU social partners: A TOOLKIT FOR GENDER EQUALITY IN PRACTICE

21. May 2014/in Equality, Diversity, Rights

This toolkit is composed of an on-line database gathering 100 best practices and initiatives fostering gender equality adopted by national social partners and/or companies in 25 European countries.

In line with the commitment to enhance gender equality on the labour market and in the workplace, CEC European Managers has participated to the realization of the EU social partners´ toolkit for gender equality. This toolkit is composed of an on-line database gathering 100 best practices and initiatives fostering gender equality adopted by national social partners and/or companies in 25 European countries.

The initiatives included in the toolkit address one of the four priorities actions that were first identified in the Framework of Actions on gender equality signed in 2005:

  • Addressing gender roles;
  • Promoting women in decision-making;
  • Supporting work-life balance;
  • Tackling the gender pay gap.

The Gender Toolkit aims to inspire managers, gender equality experts, governments, Policy makers, public institutions or other stakeholders, and to serve as a catalyst for the design, negotiation and dissemination of effective measures in different working environments.

Promoting the role of women on the workplace, and the acknowledgement of the economic importance of having more women occupying management positions, is a major issue for CEC European Managers and its national members. CFE-CGC from France, MAS from Slovenia, Lederne from Norway, CIDA from Italy and HMA from Greece have all presented their initiatives, which can be found visiting the website of the toolkit
