CIDA Manager engages with Ministers Tajani and Zangrillo on key issues

30. July 2024/in General, Members' News, News

In a pivotal meeting held in the Sala Nigra of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation last 24 July 2024 in Rome, the Federazione della Funzione Pubblica CIDA, represented by Dr. Mariagrazia Di Iasi, engaged in discussions with Minister Antonio Tajani and Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo. The meeting brought together various trade union organisations representing the ministry’s personnel.

Minister Tajani reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a consistent and open dialogue with the trade unions. Minister of Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo also presented measures and interventions aimed at modernizing the administration and making it more appealing to younger generations.

Dr. Di Iasi expressed her appreciation for Minister Tajani‘s efforts to reinforce the leadership team, citing the ongoing Ripam competition, which aims to recruit 12 new managerial positions. She called on the Minister to ensure that administrative managers at the Farnesina have concrete opportunities for career development.

Emphasizing the unique traits that unite leaders and managers regardless of their legal status or job functions, Di Iasi stressed the necessity of providing safeguards for minority managerial components within administrations characterized by diverse legal regimes. These safeguards are essential to guarantee career advancement opportunities for all managers.

In her address to Minister Zangrillo, Dr. Di Iasi advocated for methods to obtain general managerial qualifications that, while different from the competition focused on technical knowledge, still uphold the transparency and impartiality that the competitive selection process inherently ensures. She underscored the need to avoid the high level of discretion that characterizes current selective procedures, which often lead to cooptation by political bodies.

This meeting marks a significant step in addressing managers’ concerns within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. By fostering an environment of open dialogue and commitment to modernization, both Ministers Tajani and Zangrillo demonstrate their dedication to advancing the public administration sector.
