Final conference of the joint CEC-Eurocadres project on a European Model of Managerial Responsibility

Funded by the European Commission, the project aimed at analyzing what is the role and contribution of managers in the definition of CSR policies adopted by companies, and what can be the instruments to improve their role.

On 26th and 27th November 2014, more than 80 managers, experts in CSR policies, academics and representatives of the trade-union movement gathered in Brussels for the final conference of the joint CEC-Eurocadres project on the development of a European model of managerial responsibility. Funded by the European Commission, the project aimed at analyzing what is the role and contribution of managers in the definition of CSR policies adopted by companies, and what can be the instruments to improve their role. In their role, managers implement at internal company level the policy orientations set by the upper management, and can therefore contribute greatly to the elaboration, diffusion and adoption of CSR principles that shape the ethics standard of one company. And yet, their involvement in this process is generally limited.

CEC representatives participated actively in the organization of this Conference, which came as a conclusion of a one-year project programme that included workshops, seminars and a study conducted at university level.
