President Maxime Legrand addresses the Advisory Committee – Speech 24 March 2026

At least once a year, CEC European Managers celebrates an Advisory Committee meeting to update representatives of the Confederation about the latest developments.

The last Advisory Committee took place on 24 March 2026, and CEC President Maxime Legrand set out the key challenges facing Europe and the role of managers in addressing them.

Legrand pointed to a context marked by accelerating geopolitical, economic and technological tensions, where questions of competitiveness, security and sovereignty are increasingly shaping policy choices.

Managers play a central role in turning strategic decisions into concrete action and maintaining cohesion within organisations.

President Legrand underlined that strengthening Europe must go hand in hand with fairness. If the benefits of transformation are not shared, trust in the European project risks being undermined.

He also recalled that social dialogue remains essential, warning against any tendency to sideline consultation processes.

As a recognised European social partner, CEC has a responsibility to ensure that managers’ perspectives are clearly represented.

The Advisory Committee was presented as a space for open exchange, allowing members to express their priorities and help shape CEC European Managers’ work in a changing European context.
