CEC European Managers to host major European event in Milan on June 6th

  • Region Lombardia, CIDA Manager, and ALDAI-Federmanager will welcome leaders from around Europe to discuss managerial strategies to achieve competitiveness through innovation.
  • Together with Italian managers and leaders, relevant voices from CEC European Managers, EU and Italian institutions will bring this debate in Milan.
  • CEC European Managers is the EU recognised social partner representing the interests of European management and leadership in the EU Social Dialogue..

Is Europe destined to be just bureaucracy, rules, and stagnation—or can it be a beacon of sustainable innovation and prosperity?

The Confédération Européenne des Cadres (CEC European Managers), the European social partner representing one million managers and leaders across 15 countries, is proud to challenge this perception with a high-level international event in Milan on Friday, 6 June 2025, at Palazzo Lombardia, Auditorium Testori.

Under the title “Innovation and Sustainability: Managers for the Future of Europe,” the conference brings together thought leaders, policymakers, and senior managers to outline a distinctly European path to competitiveness—one that combines growth with social cohesion and environmental responsibility.

As part of its annual general assembly, CEC European Managers will gather delegates from across Europe to discuss how management and leadership can drive a future-oriented European economy.

The public conference is organised in partnership with Regione Lombardia, CIDA, Manageritalia, Federmanager, and ALDAI-Federmanager.

It is supported by key institutional actors including representatives from the European Commission and Italian institutions.

Maxime Legrand, President of CEC European Managers, will open the conference, highlighting how European managers are key enablers of transformation.

“In our companies, we already see that innovation and sustainability are not opposing forces but complementary pillars of success. European managers are proving that competitiveness can—and must—go hand in hand with responsibility

The agenda will feature contributions from leading voices in politics, business, and civil society, including Marco Alparone, Valter Quercioli, Alessia Cappello, Stefano Cuzzilla, Raffaele Fitto (to be confirmed), Cristiana Scelza, Cristina Tomassini, Francois Hommeril, Marco Guazzoni, Torkild Justesen, Andreas Miller, Antonio Calabrò, Barbara Cominelli, Francesca Moriani, and others.

This Milan event will explore three interconnected pillars of the European economic model:

  • Innovation as a catalyst for competitiveness and transformation,
  • Sustainability as a guiding principle for long-term resilience,
  • Social dialogue as a foundation for inclusive and fair transitions.

With growing geopolitical tensions, demographic shifts, and green and digital transitions reshaping the world of work, the role of managers is more crucial than ever.

Through this event, CEC European Managers reaffirms its commitment to shaping a European model that protects welfare, promotes inclusion, and embraces change with courage and clarity.
